I don't know if something has to be done but usually I insert into scanner and scan items. No e of these work. I think I have to reformat them. Not what I signed up for.

Good quality and inexpensive
This product is up to par with similar items and the benefit is that it is inexpensive - so works well for for giving data to others and not expecting the flash drive to be returned. The removable (and losable) cap would be a deterrent to some but I don't mind.
