Excellent laser printer
This Brother MFC-L8900CDW printer is huge, but was easy to set up and the copies are crisp and beautiful. It is hardwired to my computer and wireless connected to my husband’s computer. It prints from my iPad and my iPhone…YES!
The only issue is with the cost of replacement print cartridges.
I still recommend this printer for those who do a lot of printing at home...

WASTE OF MONEY
Ran fine for about 9 months with one glitch - the printer kept telling me that the yellow cartridge was empty after I replaced it. That happened once until this December when it happened repeatedly. Too slow for an office printer
It is too slow for an office printer, it curls up envelope and card stock documents, which is not very presentable.

Solid printer for regular printing
This is a relatively large, heavy printer and it isn't as flashy looking as some of its competitors (HP). The touch display is not very responsive, either. Doesn't work; terrible support
Within three months of installing this printer it began to fail. Smudging all along one edge, shadow repeats of text, pink shading on any color printed page, toner that won't bond and is rubbed off on your hands. Great printer at a reasonable price
I was in the market to upgrade to a color printer from my MFC-L5850DW and it was between this and the EcoTank ET-5170/5180. Ultimately I went with this as my printing habits aren't well suited for an inkjet printer (plus the extra PPM when I do print is extremely nice) and I didn't feel like ruining a $600+ investment. doesn't print post cards
told the rep we needed a printer that prints post cards, it does but it doesn't have full bleed, so we can't print business cards and it smudges in the middle and the tray only holds about 10 or so of the card stock. As a printer, it's fast but that's not what we need it for.

Thought it was ok
Purchased July 2023 seemed fine, slow and loud but worked without issue. Oct 2024- receiving a "replace Laser" error & will work and then with beep and freeze. Just missed the 1 yr warranty. Will need a purchase another printer for our office, will not be purchasing again.
