Excellent 2-Drawer Locking File Cabinet
This file cabinet was exactly what I needed with 2 drawers that were perfect for letter size hanging folders! The key was hanging from the locking mechanism inside so it couldn’t accidentally lock during shipment the handles and screws were in a bag taped to the bottom of the cabinet and were easy to attach and there wasn’t a dent or scratch on it! The material is too light and drawers can be opened on the side when you already locked the cabinet.

perfect file cabinet for our apartment
We sold our home last year and moved into a nice apartment. We used to have three full-sized four-drawer files, but we were able to downsize to this 2-drawer file which is a much better fit in our new home. Perfect for our needs.

The file cabinet itself is fine, the fact that one of the handles was bent and could not be installed is the issue. I have reached out to customer service and have yet to hear back. All I need is a handle (that’s it, a very simple fix) yet, I still wait……...

Mildew odor
This is my fifth cabinet of this type purchased from Staples. They all are performing well. However, this last cabinet came with a strong mildew smell. Since I needed the cabinet in service quickly, I cleaned the surfaces a couple of times to knock down the mildew smell. If I had more time, I would have returned the cabinet.

Bad drawers
The drawers on this filing cabinet barely open 2/3 of the way. Therefore, if the drawers are full, you cannot get to the files in the back.

We ordered two of these cabinets and one was okay but the other had one drawer locked and we couldn't get it open. The quality of the cabinets is not very good. We won't order again.
