The cabinet is very poor quality for the price. It was the second one that was delivered. The first one came to us severely damaged. This was due to a cement block that became dislodge and damaged the inside so bad the drawers barely opened. Comfy cute
Great to be already assembled except to place the rails for the files (simple to do) and just attach the drawer handles. Love the size and it came in very good condition!!

Perfect everything but -
This lateral file cabinet was the perfect size color and price...unfortunately it was so terribly damaged I couldn't use it. That being said from the very start of the order to the refund at the end Staples was great to work with.

Like the file cabinet but not the state of it with delivery
When the file cabinet it was delivered in a box that wasn't strapped well and was upside down. There was a concrete paver in the bottom that since the box was delivered upside down had shifted inside the file cabinet putting a dent in the top of it. The paver also left concrete dust all inside the cabinet which had to be cleaned before we could put anything in it.

Excellent value
This is a sturdy file cabinet that holds a good amount of files within a small footprint. Its a perfect "no frills" cabinet for a business office. Well worth the price for my needs. A great value.

Third time a charm!
Would not buy again. Original unit arrived with missing parts i.e. the rails that hold the files. Customer service sent out new rails but they were the wrong size. Finally got it right on the third try. Not worth thr effort.

file cabinet ST52141
the bottom drawer will not open when the top drawer is shut it stays locked but the top drawer will not lock. Something is wrong with the bar on the inside that releases the bottom drawer to open when the top is shut. i found a way to tie up that bar to disengage it so now i can get into both levels but it will not lock. Defective cabinet
The bottom drawer of the cabinet did not lock. It appears part of the locking mechanism was not installed.

Just the file I was looking for
This lateral file cabinet really hit the mark for me It fits nicely into a double door closet and allows me to eliminate two separate file containers with plenty of extra room for future use Very pleased

2-drawer lateral file cabinet
Given I bought floor model on clearance it has some hiccups but overall not bad. Expect a regularly-stocked model of the same item would probably be pretty good (probably four stars)!

Poor Quality cabinet
The railings on the interior of the drawers do not fit properly causing them to dislodge from the side causing the hanging folders to fall. It is also not convertible to legal size.
