Staples should carry Ampad Gold Fibre paper pads in their stores!
Much better quality than any of the other paper pads that Staples sells under their own name and others. The sheets tear cleanly, the wrap at the top of the pad doesn’t peel up, and the backing is stiffer. The paper quality is probably about the same. It’s absurd to carefully tear off a sheet from one of the Staples or M brand pads and end up with ragged edges along the...

Expensive for nothing special paper
Nothing special about this paper. It is not flimsy, but expensive for paper.

Not 'heavyweight paper'
'16-pound standard-weight paper' (ad info) is NOT 'heavyweight paper.

• TRU RED™ Notepads… absolutely NO. My purchase was returned.
Sheets tear off with rough edges…jagged all over the top of the sheet (due to non-perforations).
Staples's 4.6 (out of 5) is sheer nonsense. Should be ashamed/red-faced.

Ampad Gold true to reviews
Just received these legal pads, and so far they are tearing very nicely, the paper is a good quality, not thin, but not overly thick either. I am interested to see how the tearing is when we are lower down on the pad, that seems to be where the trouble starts, this is why I did not give 5 stars. Hope it stays easy and even when tearing.

The best
I think these pads are the best ones commonly available. You can feel the quality, and I love the college rule The back is sturdy, and perforations clean. A little more expensive, but the pleasure of the quality lasts way beyond the little bit of price sting.

Very good paper, little to no bleed-through. Sheets tear neatly and the pad backing is substantial to minimize bending.

ampad pads are excellent
I appreciate the heavier wt and greater brightness of paper in Ampads and always regret it if I have to settle for cheaper, light wt ones instead.

Excellent pads
I really like being able to get narrow-ruled pads in this size. The paper usually tears pretty easily along the perforation, or you can use the pad as a kind of notebook. I can write with a fountain pen on the front side without much bleeding. My only complaint is that the margin on the back is on the right-hand side if the header space is at the top.
