Reimbursement
The model I received doesn't have the checkpoint-friendly design to lay flat or the Trolley pass-through luggage as advertised. I returned the backpack but never got reimbursed.

space and weight
ive had problems with lack of space in my other laptop bags and this one has more than enough space for all my work stuff and binders

Great backpack.
Great backpack - my son used to have shoulder problems carrying his laptop all day at school. Since getting this bag he hasn't complained of shoulder pain at all. The bag is really well made. Feels sturdy. Very happy.

10 years and still going strong!
I got this bag back in collage over 10 years ago and its still going strong to this day and has been my daily driver, gone on holiday and camping! It is a bit scuffed in places from hard use and only in the last year have two of the rubber coatings on the zips come off. Best backpack ever!
I bought this packpack as a replacement to an identical one I purchased almost 15 years ago! With only one minor change, it's essentially the same awesome backpack and I was elated to see it hadn't been discontinued.

Good backpack, bungee adjustable water pocket is too small.
Targus changed the design of water mesh pocket to bungee adjustable water pocket. Old design was too weak, new design is too small. I like the idea of bungee adjustable water pocket, but the right design should accommodate 32 oz glass bottle in the protective sleeve at t he max. and go down from there. Holds water bottles amazingly well
I got one of these at work and am now buying one for my daughter. The bungee water bottle feature is works shockingly well. I've but giant bottles in and lugged this thing around airports and planes, and it just stays put. Amazing.

Laptop sleeve needs improvement
Overall, the bag is well built and has adequate space for carrying books and notebooks. However, the biggest issue I have with the bag is with the laptop section. There is nothing that holds the laptop in place and keep it from moving around. The Velcro strap at the top does nothing to secure the laptop. Spruce EcoSmart Checkpoint Backpack - Okay for Day Travel
