Very nice pencil sharpener
I recommend this pencil sharpener. It is great quality and sharpens pencils to a very sharp point. It is designed to stop when the pencil is sharp. Works great!

Useless out of the box
Clatters like an old car with no oil in the motor. The slightest pressure on the pencil causes the motor to stop dead. Returning for refund.

Solid, Sturdy, Reliable
I bought this to keep my coloring pencils sharp and it does a great job. The feature that suspends sharpening upon optimal sharpness works well and saves pencils from over-sharpening. The best pencil sharpener I have ever worked with.

Poor quality
My old Boston pencil sharpener finally gave out after years of service in a classroom. The Staples machine either ground up the wood around the lead or sharpened only one side of the pencil, leaving wood on the other side. Also the pencil didn't go in smoothly but rattled in, so the fit wasn't secure while sharpening. Can't recommend it.

Works well in the classroom
This is my second purchase of this item. The first one lasted 8 years, still works, but a bit wonky now. It is used in the classroom . I have 3 other sharpeners so it is not used solely. I hope to get another 8 years on this one.
