The box cutter is genius
Aside from the box cutter these scissors are worthless. They literally would not cut a piece of thread.

Clever idea
The ergonomics between the handles and the length of the blades feel off. The blades don't seem to cut as well as you'd expect.

Neat box-cutter feature
I never had to read instructions on a pair of scissors before but I couldn't figure out what the red slide button thing was. It's a neat-built-in box cutter (small) blade that comes in handy when opening packages!

Westcott E-Z Open 8" Stainless Steel Scissors
It is a great idea. The red lock/unlock was really hard to get to move. At first I didn't think we would be able to use the box cotter blade. Also be careful because it would be easy to leave the blade open it doesn't seem to retract easily

Westcott EZ-Open Scissor and Box Cutters
I haven't used it very much yet. The first time I did I found it confusing and was holding the scissors backwards for the purpose of box-cutting. Once I got the hang of it it was easy smooth and convenient.

Loved these scissors!
I loved having the box open on the end of the scissors to open all the office supply boxes I get in daily. I lost my original pair and glad to still be able to find replacement available. Great little gadget. I would not call them a box cutter more of a tape cutter to open boxes. Much safer and easier then using the open scissors or a real box cutter.

About Westcott scissors
I love these scissors. So do other people at my work because they keep taking them and not returning them. To be able to open a boxes so easily is really a blessing.

Broke within the 1st week
They broke within the first week of use. I dropped them one time and the blade broke out of the scissor handle. Also with the blade on the handle they are awkward to use thicker than usual. I thought I'd give them a try but never again. I'll just keep to two different tools.

Love it love it love it!
Haven't used it long enough to be assured it will hold a sharp edge but so far we are thrilled. We open boxes most very day and then wrap gifts and cut ribbons regularly. This scissor allows for one tool and no dulling of the cutting surface by sticky tapes or box adhesives.

Works for me
I always use this to open boxes. The blade that comes out is just the right length. It's easy and safe. Saw a lot of bad reviews..but I liked it so much I looked it up here on Staples to get another pair. If you use the box cutter on a daily basis it will last you about a year.
