Beautiful color and softer than crayons.
Sometime crayons and just too hard to use. The pressure of drawing with hard crayon fatigues little finders. Oil pastels are easier to use and have not brilliant colors. Your kids will love them. Happy Grandma

Dried out brittle
These oil pastels have lost the oil. They are very hard waxy like big crayons. No blending. Very unsatisfactory.

Wasn't sure what oil pastel would be like......
Felt and looked like ordinary wax crayon. Is it supposed to? I have no idea. But was cheap. Unfortunately I still am in the dark whether a more expensive - better quality - oil pastel exists and if it might not feel and look very different. Maybe this is the nature of all oil pastels (i.e. to feel and look like wax crayon). Just don't know. But live and learn.

I did 2 pictures with these rather badly done so will keep them for my eyes only but they these oils didn’t disappoint in deliverance! The medium I chose was a bit course so would recommend a smooth surface. I sure had fun using them however!
