This pencil sharp works, but not as well as I has hoped. It will only accompany size pencil. I have experienced better quality pencil sharpeners in past years.

Works quite well, although, need to push the pencil in strongly, before it sharpens correctly! However, so glad that I purchased, as I use allot of pencils; regular and colored. Thank you for having the sharpener available!

The worst pencil sharpener ever
I purchased this sharpener and hardly used it (maybe once or twice initially. When I finally got around to using it more often, the motor locked up and there's no way to access the internal components to see if there is a jam without completely dismantling the unit. If it were possible, I would give this item 1 quarter star.

Doesn't sharpen pencils at all. Just makes a bunch of noise and the lead is still as dull as when I inserted the pencil.

Bought one a little over a year back and it stopped working. Was satisfied with it while it worked, but disappointed with it for quitting on me for just using it on only a week limited usage. Price is the only reason for giving it another try.

Don't love the rounded top, quite noisy.
I really dislike that the top is curved. I used the top of my last one to put other things on. My last one was super old, probably 20 years old and it was a workhorse. It was also quieter. This one is loud and it's a little tricky to work. You put in the pencil and then have to press down a bit to get the motor to engage. My old one was easy - put in pencil and it grind...

It is noisy. But, thank goodness it doesn't get used constantly. If the other Staples sharpener had been available, I would have bought that one (as we do already have one in another location).

The motor stalls. The electric motor is WEAK. And I've barely used the thing (so dirt is not the problem). Stay away.
