Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your Rating and Review of the Scotch(R) Transparent Tape. In October, 2013 we will begin shipping a new version of Scotch® Transparent Tape on a 3 inch core. This change is being made to minimize the confusion between our product sold in consumer retailers and the product sold through Industrial Distributors. The tape construction for both these tapes has historically been the same, using a UPVC backing. However, the construction for Consumer 1 inch core tapes is made from a different film so the product line was inconsistent in appearance and functionality. Additionally, the intended applications for each of these products vary greatly with the Industrial product being heavily used in electronics and garment applications and the Consumer products use is typically in general home and office use. This has caused a number of issues in the marketplace and with this change it will now create consistency in the Consumer 600 Transparent Tape construction utilizing one film only. The Industrial version is still available for purchase through some standard retailer's without the paperboard box in bulk form.
