Scotch book tape.
Old favorite--looks like shipping tape, but much better for repairing books and their bindings. For paperback books, I use it for reinforcing the edges of the cover so they don't curl up and leave the book unprotected.

Scotch Book Tape 845, 1 1/2 x 15 yds, 3 Core
Was not what I was told it was. I asked if it had single or double weave and was told that it must be single since it did not show in the picture. I received the tape and returned it the same day. Could not use it.

Not Ordinary Scotch Tape
I have used this tape for years and it doesn't yellow and fall apart like regular scotch tape.

I spent a premium price to get what looks like ordinary Scotch tape that is just wider than the standard size. I expected it to be a more heavy-duty material that would support bindings on larger, hardbound books,.

Tape works well
This tape repaired the cardboard holder of a book collection. It worked well. It is shiny and heavier than I had expected, but it did the job.

Worked Fine
I’m not sure how much different this is compared to regular shipping tape but it worked fine for me. Maybe over the long run it is better. Anyway it worked just fine for me.

Music Saver
Although the jury is still out on whether or not this tape will eventually break down and actually ruin my music, for now, it's perfect. My concert music was splitting at the seam right where the elastic to hold it in my folder would have gone, so I've applied the book tape there and now the pages won't catch as I turn them (especially during the quiet page turns).

Clear?
I was surprised to see that the book tape was clear. I applied the tape to the damaged back of the book and it seems to have done the job. It's a 39 year old cook book and is used often. Now, wait and see.

Book tape
Book tape is very hard to find and needed by everyone. As a librarian I had to fix books that were mended with the improper tape. I only wish the manufacturer put more on each roll. Now that I am retired I appreciate Staples having it to purchase as I am now repairing my own books.
