Tape fails due to moisture.
Dear Stanley, I have been using only fatmax tapes for years. I recently started installing swimming pools and concrete. Every time I use a fatmax on wet grass in the morning it comes apart, I had two come apart in one week. I will not be purchasing anymore fatmax tapes anymore and I will be warning all of my fellow contractors. The most recent failure was in front of on...

Stanley Fat Max 30’ auto lock very disappointed
The blade is light duty, broadcasting this tape is a challenge at a distance of 5’. I’ve purchased untold quantities of these tapes over my 42 years and the quality has plummeted and design cannibalized. The hook on the end has horns that stand above the tapes top surface and are more of a hindrance than a help. Not impressed at all!

Disappointed
I just purchased two fatmax special edition tapes. In the past I have always used fatmax on the job site. The new tapes seem to be made of lighter material - very floppy. Marketing touts a 14' reach. This must be in a vacuum. In the slightest breeze it bends beyond 5' or 6". Another issue I have is when wearing insolated gloves, you can't grab the tape end. The tape mov...

Not what they used to be
The construction of the tape is great but the tape itself (the blade) on my newest one is limp and floppy. I’ve owned over a dozen of the fatmax 30 tapes and use them every day. But the rigidity of the blade has been getting worse lately on the newer ones. I am a carpenter by trade and this used to be my favorite tape. I am now on the quest to find a better tape.

Stanley makes the best tape meaaures
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Stanley makes the best tape measures. I've used other brands but always end up regretting it. I do a lot of ladder work and have to take measurements sideways. Stanley is the only tape that doesn't curl over on itself.

Great feel
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This tape is great, it’s easy to read and also fits in my hand. The numbers and marks are big enough and bold enough I don’t have to squint to see them. This is a great product.

Great Tape Measure!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This tape measure is durable beyond belief. The locking feature still works as well as it did on the day i bought it over 3 years ago. The housing itself can be a bit heavy and likes to fall over if you aren't holding it firmly.

SHOULD HAVE BOUGHT THIS YEARS AGO
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this tape to supplement my ancient Stanley Powerlock 33-116 16ft tape which still works like new. I needed a longer tape and this fit the bill Very Satisfied.

Decent so far, but not sure about longevity
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this as a replacement for a 30' LeverLock which failed (part inside broke and tape came out ... and the lever lock never really worked well) but it looks like either the materials or manufacture process has declined but time will tell.

Only tape I'll buy!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] For being a 30' tape, it's surprising light. And its built to last the ages! I've dropped, threw, jumped, fallen, just about any tape measure they make at work, and NOTHING lasts like a FatMax. Keep it up Stanley!
