I like how far it can extend!
I don’t usually try new things, but I thought I would try this because of the claimed maximum extension of the tape. I do like that the tape can extend further than other tape measures!

Tape fails due to moisture.
Dear Stanley, I have been using only fatmax tapes for years. I recently started installing swimming pools and concrete. Every time I use a fatmax on wet grass in the morning it comes apart, I had two come apart in one week. I will not be purchasing anymore fatmax tapes anymore and I will be warning all of my fellow contractors. The most recent failure was in front of on...

I like how far it can extend!

Oh thank Stanley! This 30 ft Stanley Fat Max makes it much easier for my measuring and cutting. Easy to open and close. A great value for a great quality.

The best tape out there!
I will only use Fat Max tape measures from now on - I’ve tried all other brands and I feel I get the most value from the FM tapes regarding durability and dependability.

Easy to read and one hand measuring
This is the only tape measure you'll ever use! It is easier to read than other brands. It holds tight for one hand measuring when you don't have someone to hold the other end. Great tape!

Good quality tape measure
Excellent tape measure. I use consistently and love the standout length compared to other manufacturers.
Also like the blade guard that has kept it in really good condition after having for approximately 6 months.

Could be better
Great tape for the price point. Not a big fan of the shiny surface. Wish it had the finger stop underneath it and that it had the fractions printed on the tape. I have Dyslexia and its hard for me to differentiate the marks without the fractions printed of the tape. All in all, still great quality

had this for a while, measured around corner stud and tape cracked 2' mark used

Stanley Fat Max 30’ auto lock very disappointed
The blade is light duty, broadcasting this tape is a challenge at a distance of 5’. I’ve purchased untold quantities of these tapes over my 42 years and the quality has plummeted and design cannibalized. The hook on the end has horns that stand above the tapes top surface and are more of a hindrance than a help. Not impressed at all!

Disappointed
I just purchased two fatmax special edition tapes. In the past I have always used fatmax on the job site. The new tapes seem to be made of lighter material - very floppy. Marketing touts a 14' reach. Not what they used to be
The construction of the tape is great but the tape itself (the blade) on my newest one is limp and floppy. I’ve owned over a dozen of the fatmax 30 tapes and use them every day. But the rigidity of the blade has been getting worse lately on the newer ones. I am a carpenter by trade and this used to be my favorite tape. I am now on the quest to find a better tape.
