Those paw prints are precious, so we understand how important it is to do everything possible to make sure there is as little cracking as possible. To help, our experts recommend gently removing the clay from the mold once your figure is formed, ensuring that pieces are at least 1/4" thick. You’re clearly a pro at "paw-fecting" your work, so keep up the great touch-ups by adding a few drops of water to smooth out any cracks. After working hard on your sculpture, your disappointment is understandable. We're sorry for the frustrating experience you had using Crayola Air-Dry Clay. While it is expected that the clay will have minimal shrinkage and may take up to 72 hours to dry, we wouldn't expect the cracking to occur. Try placing a few drops of water on the cracks and smooth with your fingers or fill in the cracks with a small amount of wet clay and smooth with your fingers.
