Perfect for school projects
My high school project came out great, though it takes a couple days to fully dry, it was still as pristine as it was when I was still making it.

Easy to sculpt with…but that’s it.
Loved sculpting with this, doesn’t dry too fast. I left my small sculptures to cure for a month and when I went to paint them using Golden acrylics (great quality paint) it would easily chip/peel off. I did 3 coats, waiting for them to dry each time, and then tried varnishing them and… they still peel/chip at the lightest touch.

A Hack For The Crack (Kinda)
No matter what I have tried, cracking is seemingly unavoidable. However, I have found that if I add water to the clay until it's slightly softer than a Play-Doh consistency, it REALLY helps with the severity of the cracks. I'm wondering what adding some oil or maybe even glue would do...
Anyway, I've been going in and filling the cracks as my projects dry. They're look...

Response from Staples :
It's great to hear how well your project with Crayola Air-Dry Clay is working out. Those paw prints are precious, so we understand how important it is to do everything possible to make sure there is as little cracking as possible. To help, our experts recommend gently removing the clay from the mold once your figure is formed, ensuring that pieces are at least 1/4" thick. You’re clearly a pro at "paw-fecting" your work, so keep up the great touch-ups by adding a few drops of water to smooth out any cracks. For extra care, you can also press a pinch of wet clay into the cracks and smooth it with your finger. Hope you unleash a rainbow of creativity today! - Chris, Colorful Care Team

Creative new artist
My granddaughter is a smart young girl who loves to create so many beautiful things. She has made a Tigger penguin bonsai tree seal so many beautiful things. So creative then paints them & gives them to family. She is so creative I will support that creativity always

Good basic earth clay
Was able to make quite a nice sculpt out of this. Has yet to be seen what paint does.

Used a bit of white glue to help bond pieces and reinforce structures, so far has worked like a charm; able to bind dried pieces to one another with no problems.

Too long to dry
Takes a couple of days to dry, and shrinks more than expected. Also cracks

Response from Staples :
After working hard on your sculpture, your disappointment is understandable. We're sorry for the frustrating experience you had using Crayola Air-Dry Clay. While it is expected that the clay will have minimal shrinkage and may take up to 72 hours to dry, we wouldn't expect the cracking to occur. Try placing a few drops of water on the cracks and smooth with your fingers or fill in the cracks with a small amount of wet clay and smooth with your fingers. If you need further assistance, our Consumer Care Team is here to help. Please contact us at 1-800-CRAYOLA. Have a colorful day! - Chris, Colorful Care Team CrayolaConsumerAffairs

Working with crayola clay
Very easy to work with as long as you take a few minutes toward it and work it by massaging it. Keep it rolled out 1/4inch to a 1/3 and it won’t crack

Also sell the multi colour air dry and sculpting tools too.
Aside from this clay, which is good, multi use, does it all, Staples should sell the Crayola multi-colour air dry clay and even sculpting tools, that other stores sell. Sculpting tools take it to another level.

As advertised...
We've liked the ease of use of this Crayola clay. It dries within a few days color matches the description and once dry is easily painted with retention of color (tempera paint used).
