Not Worth the Price
I am a high school teacher and we bought three of these. Mine stopped working for no apparent reason. I thought for this type of money it would surely stand up to the test of students but it did not.

Bring the old Boston Sharperners back
Bought three of these for classrooms. 2 are not working - one is fine. They just stop working. I wouldn't buy again. Need to find a brand that last like the old Boston that had 4 wholes.

Best ever
This pencil sharpner can keep up with the 22 children in my classroom. Well worth the money. A must have for teachers!

Heavy Duty
This sharpener should stand up to the wear and tear of a classroom of eager sharpeners. The pencil point produced by this machine is sharp and strong. The only drawback is the shavings drawer. At first it is a little difficult to replace once removed but after a few practices you can get the hang of returning it to the correct position.

no no!
Bought sharpener in April for my classroom. Returned in April after it stopped working [...]Second one stopped working in September (actually only 2 "school months" later.) Since it had been more than 30 days had to contact Elmers/X-ACTO for a replacement. #3 should arrive anyday now. Not holding out much hope that this one will last. Great Sharpener
I use this for lots of pencils on a daily basis in my classroom. It will last a long time if I don't let my young students use it. It sharpens pencils quickly and gives them a nice sharp point.

Not Durable
Purchased for a classroom setting. Did not do a good job sharpening pencils after only 6 months. Off center hole makes pencils sharpen off center.

so far so good
I've had it about a month and have had heavy use of it daily in my classroom. I don't let my students use it by themselves. I have to be the one who sharpens because they have gone through a half-dozen cheaper sharpeners in less than a year.

I now have bought two of these!
Great Product durable and a work horse. Sharpens many many pencils for testing for the whole school. As well as for teachers classrooms and in my office as well.

Don't make the same mistake we did
Purchased a number of these units for our elementary school. Within one year these sharpeners started dropping like flies. All the gears inside this unit are made of plastic and wear out quickly. To make matters worse when trying to repair these units we found the company Xacto does not sell the gears to the public.

Broken after only 4 days
I purchased this product for an art workshop. We were excited by the promises of this very sturdy large sharpener since we had bad luck in the past. Unfortunately our bad luck continued. After only 4 days with moderate use this sharpener just stopped working completely. Extremely disappointing! I do NOT recommend this product to anyone.

Works for us!
I work at an elementary school and - so far so good! Our teachers assistants etc. sharpen hundreds of pencils per week. This sharpener which we bought in August 2008 is still going strong. [...] I'm quite pleased so far. The only negative is the price - it's pretty expensive.

Not worth the price.
Sharpen hundreds of pencils for training programs. This one did not hold up. Only had this 7 months before it stopped working.

Poorly designed - Not worth the price
We bought the Model 41 to use in our office. We sharpen about 30 pencils a day. The unit got clogged with pencil shavings and failed after about 4 months in the office. The main gears are made of plastic and broke when they got loaded up with pencil shavings. I bought this expensive model looking for a high quality unit...what I got was a big disappointment.

Just O.K.
I bought this product to sharpen pencils for the church sanctuary. After about 100 pencils the sharpener overheated and stopped working. Would not work again until the next day. For the price I expected better quality.
