The closed metal rings do not come together. This makes it nearly impossible to turn the pages.
I would not recommend the product. It is impossible to use the binder on a regular basis and can only be used as a storage device.

Binder works great for a day runner style planner. the D rings make the pages lay flat and writing is so much easier than with a round ring binder.

Good for a limited-niche use...but expensive
I wanted a binder (and protective sleeves) that would display 8.5x5.5 material. Staples had nothing else except for this. It does the job well. Both the binder and the sleeves are rediculously expensive.

3-ring mini binder
This binder is really sturdy. I keep track of the books I read in it. The last one had lasted for years but was really flimsy compared to this one. I'm happy that the Staples associate pointed it out to me
