Bullet proof
After being in business for 30 years I've come to realize (learned the hard way) the only fax machine you want to own is a Brother. Bulletproof, easy to maintain and supplies are ubiquitous.

Works great. I did have to go to the advanced user manual to figure out some specific settings, but it was easily available online. Most of the settings that need changing are highlighted in the quick user guide (Adding phone and fax numbers, report printing).

I WOULD RECOMMEND THE BROTHER INTELLIFAX 2940 LASER FAX MACHINE. IT WAS EASY TO SETUP AND THE OPERATION OF THIS MACHINE IS GREAT.

Very good Fax; much clearer output than old unit
We bought this to replace an older Brother that was having some kind of sensor error. This is a nice upgrade! Faster. Much clearer printouts. And it uses the same toner as our previous unit, which is a nice bonus.

I replaced one that was more than 10 years old I got the same model again I was able to install it with no problem instructions were very simple and it is a long lasting machine

Paper Jams
Purchased the 2940 because our 2840 had been jamming paper on incoming faxes. The 2940 started jamming paper after a week or so since purchase. Very disappointed.

Ease of Use
I've used both features; copy & fax. I read the directions for use, but truthfully, one only has to look at the keyboard & figure out the procedures. This product is well worth the price.

wish it had a scan button and produce a confirmation page after each fax
No scan button on the machine. Wish it explained that in description about scanning capability. Yes you can scan but you have to load the documents into the feeder, go to the computer, open the scanner shortcut icon, click on "new scan" and then it feeds through the feeder. The other downside is it doesn't scan as a pdf. The closest I can get to pdf is TIF.

Not Good
Since we have had the fax it constantly jams and/or prints the paper out the back of the machine. We have called Brother and after several attempts to help us, he stated it sounded defective. We are reaching out to the vendor that we purchased it from to see if they can return it for a new one. We will give it one more chance.
