I had some troubles with the purple SCOTCH brand tape this week. I tried to use it to create lines for students who were wanting clear dividers on a large bulletin board vs. drawing lines with a magic marker like we might normally do.

The right color
This duct tape is not the ordinary kind--it's a lovely shade of violet/purple that matches my luggage and will do nicely to cover up the hole that the airline managed to give it.

Duct Tape in a pretty color
I love decorating my outgoing mail and packages and this fits the bill. Better than the old boring grey tape, it does the job but adds a kick to an otherwise boring envelope. Especially good if you get it on sale like I did.

Pretty but disappointing performance
The tape is so soft and flexible that it's impossible to rip off a segment cleanly. It ends up with a wavy edge and too easily curls up and sticks to itself. I use normal grey duct tape all the time without this problem.
