Reliable and easy to use
Hands down the best utility knife that I have ever owned. The extra blade storage is great but the fact that the base stay secure and are quick and easy to replace!

Do Not Waste Your Money
Bought two of these and have yet been able to use either. Instructions are useless and taking apart and trying again did not work. Buy another type. I threw out both.

There is no competition
For over 24 years, I have owned many utility knives from all sorts of companies. The last one was a Lutz 88 and it was very heavy and too bulky for my pocket.
This utility knife, the remarkable Stanley 10-499 was introduced to the world in the 1970’s and unlike the Lutz 88, it’s still around because it is very lightweight, slim design, fits comfortably in my pocket and...

Long-lasting, rugged and convenient
I've had two 10-499 knives for over 15 years each and have been very pleased with the quick-change blade mechanism and with the three-position blade extension. I've used it with standard and carpet blades with no problems. I also like that it easily retracts or extends the blade for safe use and storage.
After this long the only problem I see is that recently the spare...

easy blade change
have owned this knife for about a year works as it is expected the game changer is the ease of the blade change. Push the button, pull blade out, turn blade over, push back in back to work.

Great utility knife
I use this utility knife on nearly every project I’ve ever done. From opening packages, unbundling lumber; cutting shingles, to marking cut lines when I’ve lost my pencil. This is an absolute essential tool for everyone’s box.

Great Product
This Quick Change Retractable Utility Knife cuts great. I use it daily on my projects without any problems. The blades are easy to change. I like that it is retractable for safety when my kids are around. It is very easy to hold and is very nice quality.
I I would recommend this utility knife.

decent knife
I have used these off and on for years. They're a solid knife. They fit well into most tool pouches and use pretty standard blades, which is nice. The extra blade storage is extremely nice, especially when working with gypsy wallboard or something that takes a toll on blades frequently. They are solid and I can't remember a time when they failed to hold a blade in cutti...

My old knife
Sorry guys, but my ten year old Stanley knife hasn't worn out. As a result I am not interested in buy a new knife. I can change the blade in 30 seconds, without skipping a beat. As soon as it breaks, I will give your new knife a closer look, primarily I like the straight design of my old knife In not sure about the curves design of the new one

Durable!
I have had a few box cutters over the years and nothing compares to my Stanley utility knife/box cutter. If you are using it to score items for crafting or needing to cut down cardboard for recycling to heavier projects it can handle it. The handle is not only durable but hefty and can hold up to the pressure you put onto it. Blades are easy to change it in the middle o...
