In the 1990s and 2000s, when you bought a printer, it was plug and play. You simply plugged it in, and it downloaded the drivers. Within minutes you were ready to work. Switching from many HP disappointments

Great Printer
This printer is a great printer - however, you have to manually go back and change paper size. It doesn't automatically go back to a default paper size. Other than that, I would give it a 5. The ink is a little pricey but does seem to last well.

Very Misleading
Bought it to work remotely. I needed the 11x17 copying/printing. If it copies 11x17, you would think it copies 11x17, BUT IT DOESN'T. VERY misleading. Every other copier/scanner/fax I looked at, if the printed 11x17, they also copied 11x17. This is the only one I found that doesn't. Don't be mislead by the "11x17" BS.

DO NOT BUY, SELF EMPTIES ALL INK CARTRIDGES.
This is a complete scam. You fill this printer up with expensive ink, then a bit later try to print something only to find that it has self-emptied all the ink cartridges.

Close but not quite
When it works, it's fine. But there are constant connectivity issues and the problem isn't in the wireless network. Sometimes the printer works but not the scanner, or the scanner does but printing is dicey. The paper feeder constantly jams. I've cleaned the roller but it's brand new and shouldn't need that. It works for a few minutes then has problems again.

Solid Quality Printer - ---
Initial out-of-the-box.... Great. Solid and well packed. Brother Utilities a bit of a PAIN...
Had to reboot multiple times... load. reboot... but worked out OK, except for NOT being able to use PaperPort! I will connect with support to solve.

BROTHER QUALITY
I bought a MFC-J4110DW over five years ago and decided it was time to upgrade. Very happy with BROTHER. Found no reason to change. The new MFC-J5340DW is everything I was looking for in a multi-function printer. Excellent speed and print quality. Would have liked the possibility to scan recto/verso but that is reserved only for the top of the line.

Almost a five star
I purchased this printer to replace a similar HP printer that died and I like this one much better. It is faster and has a nice single sheet feeder. Print quality is excellent.
