Reliable and fast
I bought one years ago and can't believe I am the first to review. It works flawlessly and I use it whenever I want to clone a drive. Can also boot from it if drive is converted (it seconds) with the free Haslo WinTo USB. Click Tools, and use first option to convert.

10 Gbps USB with new Mac mini
Just purchased this dock. It connects at 10 Gbps USB with my new Mac mini (Late 2018), as shown on "System Summary" ---> "USB". My two drives are WD RED SATA III, 2 GB each. Performance is great and much faster read/write than before. My 3 1/2 inch big, heavy disks could use better mechanical support though.

Realiable
I use this as an external HDD holder for 2 12TB. I am consolidating my video collection from various older HDD's. On occasion this involves using the adapter for old Serial HDD's. I have two of these units, one for each laptop and they are reliable. I haven't tried the clone feature yet as I am still coping everything to my new HDD's. Once I have the masters done, then ...

Fast dock but missing cloning feature
I never would have guess that StarTech would have a dual dock without cloning functionality - but that's what this is. It's a very fast dock but lacking a crucial feature!

does not come with a usb 3.1 gen 2 cable both, the usb and power cable, are too short otherwise this unit is very easy to setup an use.
