Best of both worlds
Ive had this for a long time and still love it, I can move seamlessly between my MAC and work laptop with just switching the connector to either laptop.

I have no idea why my company would provide me with such an old and outdated product. In my opinion this dock should have been discontinued and updated. A docking station should reduce wires and mess but having no power feels archaic. I have 2 screens both with HDMI connecters and this dock can only connect one. OK but no power pass through
Ports are numerous but the lack of a way to charge a laptop directly through the dock is a game breaker.

Response from Staples :
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review of our USB3DOCKH2DP. Unfortunately, this is expected behaviour with this docking station, as power delivery was not a supported by USB-A 3.0. As a suggestion, we have a similar model that includes the function of charging the host computer, DK30CH2DEP. Please note that this feature requires a computer with a USB-C port and support for charging through USB-C.

Never an issue
I bought this 3 years ago and it is a champ I've taken it to many university housing situations and used it with multiple laptops, monitors and a tv screen on one occasion. I constantly have 3, 720p monitors hooked up to it and it runs like butter. I keep my mouse, keyboard, optical drive and aux speakers hooked up to it and the run smoothly at all times I have never ha...

Not just for Laptops
I work from home and also in the office...but I don't have a laptop. My work is mostly document-based, with spreadsheets and cloud-based things. The only video I do is an occasional YouTube clip here and there. I have a small form-factor desktop PC with an Intel i3 series CPU. On this hardware (running Windows 10) this thing works brilliantly. It allows me to move ...

Great product and works well with Mac OS
I bought this product months ago but then updated my OS and the monitors stopped working. Contacted the Techsupport team and immediately someone was on the line to help with my issues. Want to say thank you to Daniel for taking his time and helping me through the new set ups. Now everything is in order :)

Stable and very capable
This has tons of ports, and I'm using nearly all of them. I have two 2K DP monitors and a lot of USB. The only port I'm not using is the microphone. On two of the USB ports, I have powered hubs. For the monitors, they're hooked into active adapters that convert from DP to DVI-D. With all of that, what is there to say? I've been using it for 3+ years and I'm very happy. ...

Major lagging
Have a new HP laptop 16GB RAM and SSD. Two DP to HDMI monitors plugged into this dock and major lag on a consistent basis. No lag when one monitor is plugged directly into the laptop and the docking station is disconnected.
Disappointed considering it wasn't cheap. I expected more.

Response from Staples :
We always try to ensure our customers have exceptional experiences with us and our products and we apologize for the issues you've seen with our USB3DOCKH2DP. This dock should not be lagging as long as it's connected directly into a USB 3.0 port on your computer and not through a USB 2.0 port or a USB hub. Some software, however, may have settings to communicate directly with your graphics card (called hardware acceleration) and this can cause lag when using a docking station. We have a FAQ available on the product support page on how to disable this setting in a number of different software and we'd be happy to help look into this with you if you require any assistance. Please feel free to contact us at www.startech.com/support where our Technical Advisors are available 24 hours a day, 5 days a week to provide support.

Great but Windows DisplayLink driver crashes daily
2xHD & 1x4K monitors connected from my Windows 10 laptop and works nicely until the DisplayLink drivers crash taking down the display and networking for a few seconds, sometimes 4+ times/day. DisplayLink support are working on it.

MacOS 10.15 compatibility
That's perfect device that I used for couple months with my MacOS and dual 27" ViewSonic monitors without any issues. Now new MacOS 10.15 'Catalina' has arrived. I did the update of the driver to 5.2.1 Beta 2 and got two black monitors. MacOS detects them well, but nothing more. If I switched on/off a monitor, "No signal' message raises.

Great for MacBook Pro 13 Touch Bar
Used this to connect to 2 HDMI resolution monitors via DisplayPort, and run the Mac with the lid closed. Hub also links to webcam, and wired LAN. Set up with magic keyboard and mouse. Hub powers the Mac, so great integrated solution. Make sure to download the latest drivers from DPLink if connecting to display post.

Does not work with latest Mac OS
Bought the docking station a few years back and it worked great until.... I updated my Mac. Currently my external mouse and keyboard work, but the external monitor stopped sharing the screen. Very disappointed there has not been an updated driver to fix the issue.

Incompatible with Mac OX 10.13.4+
This device does not work with any Mac OS 10.13.4 and above. In addition, the mouse and keyboard flickers/lags when the USB receiver is connected to the docking station when using a Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon Gen 4.

Response from Staples :
Thanks for sharing your feedback; we certainly understand your frustration. On our website, we currently list support for up to macOS 10.13.3. Unfortunately, in macOS 10.13.4 to 10.13.6, only 1 extended display will function using a beta driver from the chipset manufacturer, DisplayLink. We apologize that there is no better solution available at this time. However, we do not expect the performance issues you're describing with your Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon. We suggest reaching out to our Technical Advisors at www.startech.com/support for troubleshooting assistance. We're available 24 hours a day, 5 days a week, to provide support.
