Reliable case and keyboard for iPad
I have owned multiple rugged books for my iPads and my wife's iPads over the years, and I have always been very happy with it's performance, including a very long battery life.

Awful keyboard fell off unable to put back on
I had to send back. Right after I received it and open up the case the keyboard fell off and unable to put back on. It was very hard to open. I liked the old Zagg case much better without the removable keyboard!

It's ok.
It appears to be good solid protection. The keyboard works well. It is difficult to adjust the tilt of the screen. It doesn't seem to sit in the hinge very securely, and the hinge is firm, so it's difficult to adjust without pulling the iPad out of the hinge. Also, it would be nice to be able to set the iPad in the hinge in portrait position, but that is not possible.

I finally had to replace my original Zagg rugged book after my granddaughter cracked it five years ago by dropping it on some rocks. The crack ultimately exposed the hinge as I kept using my IPad but, seriously, there was no question in my mind I would replace the cover with the exact same thing. I had one of these for my iPad 6, and I knew I wanted one for my new iPad when I got it. Of every existing keyboard case, this one is the closest to making your ipad like a real laptop, with sufficient protection to boot. There's a slight delay when you first begin typing, but it's not a big enough deal compared to all the positives to knock down a star. 100% recommend!...

Zagg iPad Cover
I’ve been using this Zagg Rugged Book going on about 8 years, and I really like it. I buy it mostly for the cover. It fits my iPad nice and tight, and it’s not too bulky. The Black Friday price was great too!

This is my second.
This is my second rugged book for iPad. Both were very sturdy and did the job. Keyboard works well. The downside is that it is heavier than the iPad itself. but I'd rather have the weight than a broken iPad.

A good choice with room for improvement
As far as the detachable keyboard aspect goes, I like it, although it is a little tough to set the ipad back into the keyboard hinge correctly. The keyboard itself works well so far. Doesn’t close completely
This is the second rugged book in a row that never closes all the way unless I manually push the hinge. The problem occurs because the iPad slides out slightly from the groove holding it; there not tight enough of a hold that the hinge comes all the way forward when you close it.

Not A Seamless Transition
Difficult to assemble; once I finally got my iPad installed, it was fine. It should have been a seamless transition from the previous model, but it was not.

Well Built
The Rugged Book holds up well in the field. It is well-built and works well for our application. The only drawback is that the case tends to break where it connects to the keyboard after about a year of use. I wish there were more lugs where the case meets the keyboard to prevent this from happening, or that the hinge tension was reduced.
