This item doesn't fit!
I lost my ethernet adapter and ordered a genuine replacement from Lenovo, for reliability. It arrived safely, is the correct item (4X90Q84427), but won't plug into my ThinkPad X1 Extreme 2nd Generation, model 20QV-0007US! Its plug is too large for the ethernet socket, and indeed will not fit in any of the sockets.

Appreciate LAN speed vs a crowded WiFi
I personally prefer to connect to LAN, when available, than to a WiFi. I would of course prefer a stationary LAN port on my ThinkPad, but this one is an OK alternative too, because it uses a dedicated port and leaves free the valuable USB ports.

Accessories are not compatible
It does not fit the Thinkpad so why would you sell an adapter that is not compatible. The Ethernet end is correct; but the adapter cannot be inserted into the Thinkpad because the end does not fit.

Works As Advertised
Works as advertised with my X1 Carbon Gen 6. Just plugged it in and I was connected. Works just fine with Windows 10 and Windows 11.

Ethernet Extension Adapter Gen 2 Works Well
The ThinkPad Ethernet Extension Adapter Gen 2 works well on my Lenovo ThinkPad X390 Yoga. It is just what I needed for connecting the laptop to ethernet when I am not using a docking station. It makes file transfer a lot faster than when using wifi. It seems to be well made.

Ethernet Adapter Review & Comparison
I bought a USB-A at the same time. It seems to be faster using my ethernet, but my computer may have had some mix-up configuring it with auto configure on Windows. It was very slow at first.

Adapter works great
Now that most laptop adapters do not come with Ethernet ports, this was greatly needed to first get our laptop on the network.

Delivered as promised
Received on time, notified of the delivery by the driver at the door. It is easily installed and increases internet speed tremendously.

Great network adapter
Works perfectly and responds like an onboard NIC when your laptop doesn’t have one and doesn’t waste a USB port like most dongles

Wrong part :-(
When I googled Lenovo X380 and ethernet this was one of the purchase options provided on the Lenovo site. Unfortunately, it is not compatible with the X380. But, I am sure it works OK.

I don't like that it's a weird proprietary connector, where I'm up a creek if they ever stop making it and the first one breaks. Or if it is going to be proprietary, they should have included one in the box ...

This unit was useless and had to be returned. It is not compatible with the P1 Gen 2 despite what the Lenovo web site indicated.
