will not work with new iMac with M1 chip
This unit worked fine with my old iMac with the intel chip. Won't work at all with the new iMac with the M1 chip.

Worked once and never again
This device worked fine out of the box the first time I used it. Every time I have tried since (using the exact same computer), the computer can't even recognize the drive is connected, much less do anything. Horrible Product.
Bought this for a computer, and every time try to load the software disk it freezes the whole computer and the mouse disappears. Nothing I can do can get it to work and there is no downloadable drivers to get it to work at all. VERY FAULTY PRODUCT AND VERY FRUSTRATING. Software to use it costs another $50!
The box says it contains "Power2Go" DVD burner software. It does not.
LG support says it has a 30 day trial version which is not mention on the box .In any case it doesn't even have the free trial. It does have DVD player software (which is great if you want to see more ads).

Works
This drive is working much better than my previous drive, but it has only been in use several weeks. It is a complex mechanical item. The real "telling" is in long term.
LG should ask me in a year about how it has lasted.

Good external DVD writer player for Laptop
Good external little writer and player for laptops with no DVD. The software won't allow me to play certain commercial DVDs. Unit feels flimsy.

Garbage
I bought this brand new in 2021 but for some reason didn't hook it up right away. Finally plugged into my 2019 iMac and nothing...doesn't even show up on the computer. DVD Player/Burner
The product is nice and light so it is easy to carry or transport in your carry on bag. Hook up is easy. USB to Mini USB. Only downside is it does not play Blue Ray discs..

Very Easy to Use
I purchased this a month or so ago and am very happy with it. My old laptop has Windows 7 on it, by choice, and it works fine. Slim and sleek and at it's peak!
I'm very happy with this LG always ready to roll CD/DVD burner. It has never disappointed me, and has consistently done its job with great results.

slim, fast read, and plug and play
I bought this a month ago for occasional use. It works perfect, it is fast and plug and play with Windows 10.
