Canon don't stand behind their product
I would look elsewhere. They market this as a high end camera, I owned my camera for 17 months (22,000 shutter count) and had a wrinkle show up on a shutter blade. Sent into factory to have them look at it, heard nothing but credit card was charged. I had to call to see what was going on, first supervisor was rude said I should've gotten the extend warranty.... it was 1...

Happiness is a R5
I've enjoyed taking photos for decades(5), R5 is by far my favorite for a number of reasons but mostly its ability to deep beautiful clarity and colors. Low light photos to bright sunny days wow is all I can say. Not a professional photographer, but this camera has renewed my desire to take more pictures.

Review of my R5 and a comparison to my R5ii
I've owned the R5 for about 3 years. The camera is and has been excellent and reliable. I recommend it for wedding, portrait photography and some wildlife photography.
A few months ago I purchased an R5ii and find the pre-capture and improved sensor allows the camera to lock on and track fast moving action far better than my R5. I'm sharing a technical comparison below...

Nice Quality, Bit Overpriced
Near perfect image quality and functionality. Great ergonomics and design. A bit overpriced so it's definitely not unreasonable to choose some cheaper counterparts with similar quality.

Love/Hate
This is the best and most expensive camera I have ever owned. Great overall and never had any issues except for the sensor giving out after only 13 months with light usage. I'm an enthusiast who takes care of my equipment so there was no reason why the sensor would give out after that amount of time. Perhaps I've been lucky in the past but I've Canons throughout and ...

The best.
Everyone knows the R5. It's the R5! High MP, quick and accurate AF, and super nice feel in the hand.

Tripod Mount broke under normal use
The camera works decent. However for the price you would think they would cover their products for more than a year. But no, unlike Swarovski unmatched backing of the quality of their products, you get a measly 1 year warranty unless you opt in to pay even more. Beware of using the tripod mount. I used it with a camera cage to product my camera body, but eventually the ...

Great Camera, Highly Recommended!
While the upgraded features for the R5 II are really nice, bang for the buck, the original R5 cannot be beat. After reading many reviews that mentioned overheating and/or shutting down, I was a bit hesitant to plop down cash for what would be the most expensive camera I have ever purchased. I can now say that I have had ZERO such issues.

Best results in 60+ yrs.
Coming from FILM days and DSLRs, R5 imaging and camera capabilities are superior. Learning to use the full gamut is worth the effort ! Digital manual takes patience. All the other Canon support bridges some gaps....THANKS

It's not what I expected for a 3K camera
Nice camera. Layout is ok. Menu is great, functions are outstanding. Happy with the fact it has an audio recorder for photo journal work. Really sad it's only 72 dpI... really Canon? You already know the standard for print work is 300 dpi. (which the R6 MK II has!) Just another tactic to force us into a buying a better, more expensive camera body.. Your multiple tactic...

Buggy, Unreliable Camera.
This camera is great at some things like low light and focus, however it is super buggy, throwing error codes, over heating, and excessive battery usage to just name a few faults. These deep flaws in high pressure situations have left me questioning my trust in canon as a whole and turning to my more dated however reliable 5D Mark IV in situations where I need TRUST. A...

Two R5s make the best combination for wildlife photos
I bought a second R5 body so that my photo process remained the same across picking up a second camera with a different lens set up. It is important to have the muscle memory so that I can make the most of the camera's capabilities without having to stop and think.

Best camera ive ever owned
Ive owned almost every Canon DSLR since the 20D. I didn't think the 5DmkIV could be topped, but this camera blows it out of the water. Great looking files directly out of the camera. If you take your time and expose correctly, very little post required. The in camera ibis is a game changer, especially paired with a great stabilized lens. Cant wait to see what the R5 II ...
