Have been using this device for over 2 months and haven't had a single issue with it. Setup was extremely easy. Just follow the simple instructions. Had it up and running in 15 minutes. My setup includes dual monitors, VOIP soft phone (phone works through my laptop) and video conferencing. No throughput issues with all of this traffic running through the Startech dock.

Failing on multiple machines
I tested this dock for my company on 4 different machines, all of which experienced different problems. Monitors freezing, not refreshing, artifacting, the machines freezing and the dock needing to be restarted.

2 monitors on a 2017 MacBook air running
I bought this to run a second monitor using the USB3 port. My MacBook Air runs the latest Monterey 12.3.1. Once all was plugged in, which was all of 3 cables, plugged in the Power, the USB cable and an HDMI cable, I simply downloaded the drivers for the Mac 12.x and installed. Avoid
I've had 3 of these docks none of the worked as intended, 2 returned and 1 will be going back soon, either the devices dont work alltogether or when put under any kind of screen motion, they disconnect and reconnect after 20 seconds or so, useless for business.

Great with macOS 10.14 on Retina MBP 15"
Fried my discrete video card hence needed an extender for reusing the 2 monitors that were connected to the thunderbolt port previously. The docking station worked after installing the drivers. Would have preferred 2 HDMI ports at this price. But still a great device. Doesn't get too hot and most importantly works with Apple devices without any hassle.

Some good feature, but lacking others.
I have had this dock for several years, and it works well. After all this time I only have a couple complaints. The first is that the DisplayLink manager app doesn't have an auto update feature, and it's really annoying having to search for it whenever the dock stops working as a result of a MS patch. Not working on all the PCs
I tested it with 3 PCs (last driver, etc.). One was working fine without any problems. I changed my PC for a new one and i got A LOT of problems: external screens and the PC was feezing during 10 seconds every 10 or 15 minutes - strange behaviour... i tried with a third PC, same bad behaviour... Possible compatibility issue w/ Win 8.1
It worked well the 1st 6 hours. Then, it stopped working. I spent two days troubleshooting. I could not get it to work. Returned the product.

works great out of box
My desktop died so I opted for a port replicator for my Win 7 HP Probook and Win 8 Acer Ultrabook to use my nice monitor, keyboard, mouse, etc. Works great. Recommend downloading the drivers from the website then performing a Win Update...forgo the installation CD.
