When Active Noise Canceling, Adaptive, or Ambient Sound features are active, the sound from the sub-microphone, located on the top outer edge of your earbuds, is adjusted based on the noise control mode and transmitted through the speaker. However, covering or touching the area around the sub-microphone while putting on, removing, or adjusting your earbuds can cause the microphone to pick up sound, resulting in beeping or howling noises.
