To slow for almost anything! Completely unusable..
I bought the Extreme Pro 4TB to connect to my Mac Mini for additional storage of my action cam footage. Every time I tried to use a saved clip in iMovie or any other editing program, the footage was crap!
Footage saved on the local HDD worked fine, but as soon as I used the SSD the same clip wasn't usable.

Can't syn with iPhone 15 Pro Max
I bought my SanDisk Extreme Pro 4T portable SSD a couple years ago; it came with a USB-A to USB-C cable. It is syncing with my computer, which has a USB-A port. I 've bought ssd 4t in begining of this year, 2025, and never ,never It 's worked for. I have a top new mac pro and this ssd never was recognized for it

Big Storage, Big Power need
I was hoping to use this with my phone, the drive draws so much power that it needs to be in a fully powered computer usb or a powered hub. Which is a shame. Fully able to back up my digital files though so that’s awesome.

the drive is WAY too unstable and corrupted without notice. The warranty doesn't cover data recovery so I really wasted my money. Don't waste yours.

Great drive that works, BUT
I have 3 of these drives and they have all worked as one would expect. From that perspective I would rate it a 5; however, reports of sudden and complete failures prevent me from using them in critical need types of situations and force me into a frequently backup mode. I am not sure I can trust the drives stability and durability.

Spoiled by the speed
Considering the (now) available firmware update, presumably to address widespread dire complaints about this drive, I decided to risk it and I am not disappointed. Certainly the luxury of transfer speeds in the seconds versus yes of seconds is one you can live without but if you try it once, you’ll appreciate it.
