I bought this product barely 6 months ago. I had previously used a Staples shredder for years without incident. This shredder just stopped working today. Certainly I did not get my money's worth. THe opening for the paper is narrow, barely 1/2 in greater than an 8x11" piece of paper. This product was not abused. I never shredded anything more than paper - not even a staple. It certainly would not shred 15 pages at a time. It is also fairly messy with paper shreds everywhere when you open the bin. Would not recommend at all - friend or foe!!

Had a Staples Shredder 12 sheet shredder for about 5 years. Last night, I gave it severe indigestion when I accidently fed it junk mail that had a penny clued to it. Bought this one as a replacement. Came out of the box OK, Box was in good shape, casters installed with no problems encountered and it sits level. Finished shredding junk mail this afternoon. The paper slot is a bit narrower than my old one and it is a bit harder to activate but so far, I'm happy with it for what I got it for.

I purchased this today because my last shredder gave it up last night. I was nervous about this shredder after reading the other reviews, so I went to the store to check them out in person. I was satisfied with the construction. At home, I found the wheels easy to pop in and everything was sturdy. The shredder was very well packaged, and it worked well the first time I turned it on. I've already filled the container once and the unit is surprisingly quite for a relativity inexpensive shredder. I don't have any expectations that this shredder will last 15 years, but I would expect to get a good few years of use out of it and it seems to better constructed and have better features for the same price I payed for the last shredder.

Could you please direct me to the appropriate recommended shredder bags for use with this shredder? I cannot find any 7 gallon bags on staples.com, and most definitely need compatible bags for this product, which I just purchased. Thank you so much!

Our shredder is about a year old. Everytime we put in a paper to shred the temperature light goes on. We did do alot of shredding on friday but it worked fine, sometime over the weekend this happened. Can you tell me thing to check to get it working again? Thank you

I bought one of these last week. There was not much information in the manual. I saw something on the box about lubrication sheets. There is nothing in the manual about lubrication. How often do you run a lubrication sheet through?

The machine will not cut off. It cycles on and off when in the auto mode. It has been thoroughly cleaned and there is no paper in it. Model SPL-TXC15A was purchased 4/12/11. How can it be repaired?
