What Types of Wireless Headphones are Available?
There are three main options when it comes to wireless headphones. Read below for details on each type:
- Earbuds/In-ear wireless headphones: This type of headphone fits inside the ear canal, similar in size and nature of disposable ear plugs. They are lightweight and compact which makes them perfect for transport. The most minimalist variety, they won’t interfere with jewelry or headwear or be too bulky to carry and use at work or on the plane. Earbuds are usually the most affordable option, but they can be limited when it comes to premium sound and bass.
- Over-ear wireless headphones: Over-ear headphones are typically the largest, which can both increase comfort and decrease their ease of transportation. They incorporate cushioned ear cups to totally enclose the ear, immersing you in the media playback and blocking out all ambient sound. Over-ear wireless headphones are optimal for music with deep bass and high volume without disturbing those around you.
- On-ear wireless headphones: Some options of on-ear headphones are like a smaller, thinner cousin to over-ear headphones which secure to the ear’s outer face. These have wire loops around the back of neck for extra security while running, working out or traveling and the sound quality is similar to in-ear headphones. Other options of on-ear wireless headphones have ear muffs that mostly enclose the outer ear, but not entirely. These models can pump out deeper bass and better overall sound.
Staples also offers cases for wireless headphones and other accessories for added protection and longevity of your devices.
