Very disappointed. It claims it is compatible with Windows XP, but the model they sent me says Windows 7 and my computer doesn't seem to recognize it.

Not A Good Fit for Mac
You'll see on the box that this drive is Windows and MAC compatible. While it is compatible, it requires a special module to make it compatible. That module is contained on the drive, but it's not a fit for MAC. It will work, but there are some functions that will not be accessible from MAC OS because this drive IS NOT formatted for MAC OS. Large capacity but not quiet
I love the 5TB capacity. It is easily partitioned into smaller drives using disk management in Windows 7. The only reason I gave it four stars is the noise level. Replacement for a 2 tb
I had to replace my 2tb hard drive, it failed after a lot of use. It was used to store security videos, and, before that, backup of a computer. i have another 5tb Seagate, and it is working well, so I added another. Now one is used for backup only, and the other for the security vids. Pleased with the Seagate brand, it is easy to setup and use.

It is easy to set up and run but I thought it was a bit slow. It took a couple of hours for it to back up my computer. The downside to this and every other recent purchase I have made, is there are no instructions. Seagate Backup Plus 5TB usb 3.0
Staples did not have this in stock but they gave it to me at sale price and shipped it to my house quickly at no charge. So far I have about 2 TB of photographes backed up on this drive. A family member somehow knocked it off the table the other day and it survived the crash, so far so good.

Love it
I plugged in the external hard drive. My computer downloaded the backup software (which did not take long). Then I clicked on backup in my Norton Security Suite, and it took less than a minute (at least it seemed that way) to back up my computer. It was fantastic.
