Seagate HDD external drive
Had one previously this one I had to go to the Seagate website to find out how to get it to work. Included instructions incomplete. The website directions worked but there seem to have been improvements in the format download-no zip file to find & open.

Seagate External Hard Drive
This unit is perfect for digitizing various records that need to be kept for long term future use but no longer need to retain paper copies. Easy to use value for the money. I would reccommend.

about to return it to the store.
brand new, but doesn't show up in windows manager, doesn't show up in disk manager. The printed quick start guide is no help. There support section on the seagate website is bloated and doesn't address this issue.

Great frustration and I’m taking it back!
This lacks the instructions that are clear enough to make it work. I spent hours trying to figure it out and finally gave up

I ordered this the other day Friday they told me it would take two days to get. I still haven’t seen it. Today is Thursday.

Just plug it into a USB port and go.
Just plug it into a USB port and go... It isn't worth installing the software they provide it just adds complexity to a simple situation. Plug it in and it shows up in Windows Explorer...that's all folks! 1TB is more than enough for me.

Not easy to use
I wanted to back up certain files but this only allowed me to back up my whole laptop not pick and choose. I returned it I was disappointed in this product.

The drive installs easily and seems to run well but requires a sign in at the start of a session.

Staff was knowledgeable and helpful in choosing the right product and had it delivered the next day. The product was easy to use and successfully backed up my mac. I would recommend this product and I would shop at Staples again.

It works
Seems to work fine does what its supposed to do storing info so its smaller than my old drive which also works fine we will have to see over time if it works

ok
After Seagate tech agent instructs how to download TOOLKIT just select backup. it's that easy. What's more the default backup plan only backups new or changed files. Seagate tech service is readily available by telephone.

Never worked with Win 7
Sketchy instructions--one diagram. Never got it to work on a Windows-7 Professional computer that needed a new backup drive. Returned this drive to Staples.
