With over 10k photos on my iPhone and laptop I needed a large hard drive to save them all being able to catalogue the pics the way I wanted to and still have space for the next few years to add more pics towards this drive was for me! Worked great!

Not what I was looking for
Went to Staples to get a 2T external hard drive but since the shelves are all empty boxes and everything is locked up this was all they had. Way too much storage for what I need. Can't we have actual inventory on the shelf anymore??? Should've ordered online but then why do we have stores?

Great product for me needs
This is the 5th Seagate 8TB drive I've purchased. I've been digitizing my entire DVD collection (4500+) and these are a great way to preserve my collection.

Solid purchase
I bought it 2 weeks back as backup drive for 6tb nas volume. The box says window or mac so i gambled a bit as i had a linux distro nas. The Linux that ran the nas didn't recognize the exFat partition the drive shipped with, so i deleted it and created NTFS volume and was able to then use from the NAS. The price was great for an 8tb drive so I worked in my favor.

so far, so good. Seagate has always been a reliable brand. Of course the price of memory has constantly dropped and this makes it easier to load up on large drives.

A lot for a liitle
This is a massive amount of storage space that isn’t as large in size as the tower storage of just a few years ago and yet holds so much more than the smaller external drives were were looking at. Great device lacks package info
The store clerk & I looked all over the package for cable required details. My new Mac has USB-C ports. Inside you learn you need a Micro-B to USB-C cable. Other than that this is a great device. I’m just using it for backups but the hub allows more capability if you need it.

I like this device. It was easy to set up since I have windows. My only concern is that it seems slower in transferring data from my laptop to the 8TB than the 2TB device I bought a few months ago. But it seems to be working ok overall.

Nice… but…
Lots of tech for PC users however Mac users like me must reformat the drive to use Time Machine. This erases the nice tech and leaves only the drive…. The drive itself is great and it’s nice to have 8 gigs of capacity.
