We know how important it is for your Swiffer WetJet cloths to stick to your WetJet, and want to help, Stacy. If the pad doesn’t stick, the fastening strip may need to be cleaned. You can clean the fastening strip using tape, like masking tape or double-sided tape using the sticky side against the strip to remove debris. If you get the pad wet with WetJet solution, it will stick to the bottom of the mop. Place the pad on the bottom of the mop, spray solution on the floor let the pad absorb some of the solution and the pad should stick. There is no need to remove any part of the cloth when attaching to your WetJet. So we can help further, please call us at (800) 742-9220.

We're sorry to read about your recent experience with Swiffer WetJet. We expect our products to work perfectly for a long time, as they're closely monitored during the manufacturing process to ensure top quality Swiffering performance. If you haven't tried this already, wipe the sprayer nozzles with a damp cloth to make sure they're not clogged. Your WetJet also might need priming. Hold the button on the handle for several seconds until spray comes out of the nozzles (hopefully!). You may need to squeeze the solution bottle gently while pressing the spraying button. We're sorry you're disappointed to find dirt left behind after using our Swiffer WetJet. We're dedicated to making cleaning easy, and a lot of thought and research goes into our product designs. For best results, we recommend that you always sweep or vacuum the floor before using Swiffer WetJet. When using the WetJet, spray cleaning solution onto the floor by pushing the spray button on the handle down for 2 or 3 seconds to release enough solution to clean 10 square feet of floor. Spray a generous amount of solution on the area you are cleaning. Let the solution sit for 10-15 seconds to help lift the dirt, which is absorbed and locked into the WetJet pad. If the pad doesn't glide smoothly, spray more solution. We recommend that you clean the least dirty area first, saving the dirtiest floor for last. If you need to clean tough spots, scuff marks and stains, spray the cleaning solution onto the stain and leave it to soak for a few minutes, then scrub the area. Also, if you have uneven surfaces such tile floors with grout lines, you may want to consider our Swiffer PowerMop, which features cleaning pads with scrubbing strips that are designed to lift dirt from grooves and crevasses.
