They seem to be getting dried out -

Excellent Pen for Preparing Name-tags
Finally, a pen with the right tip for preparing hand-made name-tags. And it doesn’t “asphyxiate” the preparer as Sharpies tend to do.

One package out of five had a leaky pen
I bought these markers for staff to use at a retreat. They seem great but one of the packs had a leaking purple pen that bled through the packaging. Fortunately the ink was dry so it didn't make a mess. I assume the others work well but I am not using them personally.

Bullet tip is the right one for simple signs.
Bullet tip is easiest to use and for some reason, less available than the tapered tip which is more difficult to use. Perfect color combo.
