I've used this pencil for many years and like the soft finger hold, built-in, replaceable eraser and ease of use. It was reliable for at least 10 years before it stopped advancing lead properly. So I ordered more of them.

Pentel Twist-Erase III Mechanical Pencil
Looking to find a replacement for the Sanford PHD and it isn't as comfortable. Seems kind of cheap.

Pentel Pencil - Blue
One of my favorite pencils from Pentel. My other favorite is the side click by Pentel. The blue color makes it easy to find! Both offer wide refillable twist erasers.

Favorite Pencil
The Pentel Twist-Erase III is my favorite pencil. I actually avoid using any other. I purchased the 0.5 mm Blue Barrel to go with the Pentel 0.5 blue lead I purchased, so I am able to distinguish the color of the lead from the black ones. Also, the blue color is beautiful!

Best Pencil
The Pentel Twist-Erase Automatic Pencil is the best mechanical pencil I have ever used. The advance mechanism is easy to use with a comfort grip. I especially like the twist up eraser which provide me with abundant opportunities to correct errors or change my mind.

Will not go back to regular pencils
I do not like to write with pencils very much, never have really. But as soon as a friend of mine lent me this mechanical pencil, I fell in love with it.
