Nothing really smart about it
As I type this, I am watching the power fade in and out on my HP dv9000 notebook, due to the 5th HP 90W AC adapter I've purchased. This one lasted a whole 2 months. Wrong suggested item
Would be a 5 if it was the right one. This was a suggested add on at the bottom of the page billed as faster charging option. Wrong charger for my computers....I bought two and waited too long to return. I am now stuck with two of these.

Works better than the charger that came with the laptop
I purchased this charger for my laptop because the 45W unit that came with the device was not keeping up with charging the battery and running the laptop. Doesn't work on the Omen series
The description says it works on all their laptops, but apparently that doesn't count their Omen series. Plug it in and it just acts like there is nothing there. Doesn't even recognize it's plugged in.

Laptop not charging? Here's a quick fix.
Found my HP Pavilion laptop would not charge even when plugged into an electrical outlet. Swapped out the original HP 45W AC Adapter with this HP 90W Smart AC Adapter and now my HP Pavilion laptop charges when plugged into an electrical outlet, charges fast, and whenever required.

An intimidation order.
It worked perfectly as soon as I placed the order. (No, not when it arrived, I mean when I placed the order) "How?" you ask. Charger does not perform like the original.
The charger can not keep up and charge the battery while the computer is on. Granted there is a problem with the battery, but the original charger, which still works, charges the battery when the computer is on (as well as off).

After having our HP computer looked at By MR. Matt Slone it was decided that we needed a new AC Adapter. After having our HP computer back home for a week that was truly the problem, Thanks to Matt Slone for the easy fix and to Staples for having the replacement parts that were needed.
