        • What types of repairs does Staples perform?

          Staples repairs broken screens and can recover wet devices. Apple® phones can be repaired in store and on demand through SquareTrade Go. Samsung and other brands can be repaired through mail-in service and on demand through SquareTrade Go. Tablet repairs are mail-in only. Wet phones can be serviced in store only with our TekDry® machines.

        • How long does a repair take?

          In-store repairs are typically performed the same day. Mail-in repairs can take up to 7-10 days.

        • What types of wet devices can be recovered?

          Any device that fits in the TekDry machine can be attempted to recover! We service key fobs, cell phones and laptops. It’s quick and risk free. Most repairs are completed within 30 minutes and if it doesn’t work, you don’t pay. Shut off your device. Don’t plug it in. Bring it to Staples TekDry machine ASAP! Do not waste time with rice! Rice will not save your phone.

        • I dropped my phone in the ocean. What are my chances to save it?

          If your device is submerged in salt water, rinse it with cold water. Salt will begin to corrode your phone immediately. Shut off your device. Don’t plug it in. Bring it to Staples TekDry machine ASAP! Do not waste time with rice! Rice will not save your phone.

        • What should I do if I dropped my phone in water?

        • Why should I repair my device at Staples?

        • Does the repair come with a warranty?

          Our parts all come with a 1-year limited warranty covering phones with any defects. We are not responsible for accidental damage done to a device after a repair. Water damage occurring will also void the warranty on the repair.

        • How do I know if I need to replace my battery?

          After about 300 charge cycles or 1 year of use, the battery only retains about 80% of its charge.

        • Will I need to provide my passcode?

          For full testing on your repaired device, we will need your passcode. If you do not want to provide your passcode, you can accept partial testing.

        • What else can I do to protect my phone?

          Protect your screen with Liquid Armour – a liquid product that provides scratch resistance for up to 1 year. Other screen protectors are hard to apply, you can never get rid of EVERY bubble, and some of them degrade the image quality. Liquid Armour is invisible, plus equivalent to 9H hardness – which by the way - is right below Diamonds at 10H! Plus, we’ll apply it for you in store. Buy a strong phone case to protect your frame. Backup your data often to the cloud, your computer, or an external hard drive.

        • My phone is still in contract. Should I come to Staples for my repair?

          If your phone is under contract, you should contact your warranty provider for repair as Staples is not an authorized repair center. Opening the device will void your warranty.

        • What happens if I have an issue with my phone after I get it repaired?

          We will work with you to remedy the situation with no additional cost as long as it is within the 30 day return period or 1-year limited warranty period. Our Parts all come with a 1-year limited warranty covering phones with any defects. We are not responsible for accidental damage done to a device after a repair. Water damage occurring will also void the warranty on the repair.
