    I use the cat5 cable setups for a lot of my timing situations/use of additional hookups. With a 4port or 6port hub, I need the reliability and ease of set up to ensure proper and consistent connections. Sometimes I attach, via the hub, several cameras and computers, sometimes only one but all have to be talking to each other via the hub and cat5.

    Most Cat5's are good, some more reliable and efficient than others. The price at Staples was a good one and, although I didn't necessarily need another cable, I purchased the 7' and the 25' cables to add to the potential availability of back up cables.

      I have a computer that has Vista operating system and it would not hook up to wireless.. Reason I was given was the vista program is outdated. and NO updates are available. unless I buy Windows 7 or windows 8.. so had to resort to buying the cable.. for my desk top.. which I hardly ever go on line with.. but needed to recently.. and could no connect to wireless with the adapters I purcahsed.. Had to return them .. or buy the program 7 or 8.. for several hundred dollars.. so went for the "cheap" way and bought the cable.. for less than $25.00
