What Is the Difference Between HP 147A, HP 147X and HP 147Y Toner?

- HP 147A toner provides a standard yield of 10,500 pages
- HP 147X toner provides a high yield of 25,200 pages
- HP 147Y toner provides an extremely high yield of 42,000 pages
These estimated yields vary depending on the amount of printed material on each page, the size and type of printer paper used and other factors.
Which HP Printers Use HP 147 Toner?
For ease of use, HP 147 toners are all compatible with the same HP LaserJet Enterprise printers. It is important to note that toner cartridges are only compatible with HP LaserJet printers and cannot be used with inkjet printers. Each usable printer is listed below:

How Do You Replace HP 147 Toner Cartridges?
Start by locating and opening the toner cartridge door on your HP printer. Then remove the old cartridge and set it aside for recycling.
Before placing the new HP 147 toner inside, gently rock the toner from side to side to evenly distribute the toner.
Finally, remove the tab and tape located on the toner cartridge and insert it into your printer.

HP prioritizes sustainability and each HP 147 toner cartridge contains post-consumer recycled material. Plus, the cartridges are recyclable themselves.
To recycle your cartridge, you can either send it through the mail or drop it off at your nearest HP retailer. You can help reduce HP’s carbon footprint by up to 30 percent when you recycle your spent toner cartridges.
