EDO DRAM
Extended Data–Out Dynamic Random Access Memory. A type of computer memory (RAM) that was widely used several years ago, especially in older Pentium PCs, and has since been replaced by faster RAM modules. Its board is typically constructed as a 72–pin SIMM.

Encapsulated PostScript File (EPS)
Usually abbreviated as EPS. An EPS file is a stand–alone, self–contained PostScript file that describes the contents of a printed page. EPS files can be scaled to any size, and they are commonly exchanged by desktop publishing and graphics professionals, publishers and printing houses. Many clip art libraries on CD–ROM and the Web offer graphics in EPS format.
Encrypting file system

End-tab filing
A method of filing that speeds document retrieval. End–tab files are color–coded, and the tabs themselves protrude at the open edge of the file, so that they can be viewed without being removed from the file drawer. End tabs can either be written on or have adhesive labels affixed to them.
Enhanced battery life
Enables you to improve the battery life of your mobile computer by conserving display power in two ways:
Lid power – When the lid of a mobile computer is closed, the display is powered off.
LCD Dimming – When a mobile computer is running on battery power, the display is dimmed. Upon reconnection to AC power, the original brightness is restored.
Enhanced Capability Port (ECP)
An international specification describing bi–directional communications using a computer's parallel port. ECP focuses on printers and scanners.
Enhanced Parallel Port (EPP)
An international standard documenting bi–directional communications using a computer's parallel port. EPP focuses on peripherals other than printers and scanners.

Expansion slots
An opening (such as a PC or PCMCIA slot) in a PC, laptop, or handheld (PDA) that allows for the addition of different devices, such as sound cards.
