Handheld expansion slot
Accepts memory and modem cards. Memory cards expand a handheld's memory so it can run more programs and perform more complex tasks (such as running Word® or Excel®). Modem cards enable handhelds to access the Internet and therefore send information to, and receive information from, a remote PDA, PC, pager, or fax.
Handheld memory capacity
Measured in megabytes (MB), handheld memory stores information such as addresses and schedules, and helps the handheld run more complex applications, such as accessing the Internet or playing music files. All handhelds come with at least 2MB. One megabyte of memory can store roughly 4000 addresses. Most models also allow for the addition of memory.
Handset locator
In case you misplace your cordless phone, this feature, activated by pushing a button on the phone cradle or base, will help you find it. The handset will emit a short ring or pulse.
Hard drives
Used to store documents and files right on the PC. A high–performance hard drive can increase a PC system's performance by up to 30% and is more than 50% faster than standard hard drives of the same size.
HDTV
High–definition television. A standard of depicting and broadcasting television signals that creates a greater image resolution by using at least twice the scan lines of normal televisions.
Headset compatible
Gives you the ability to plug a headset into the base of your phone. Headsets allow users to have their hands free while talking.
Hearing-aid compatible
This feature makes it more comfortable for those with hearing aids to use a phone receiver.
Height-adjustable seat
This allows a chair's seat to be manually or pneumatically raised and lowered. The proper height allows your feet to stay flat on the floor, which in turn adds support to your lower back.
Help and support center
Easy to recover from problems and get help and support when you need it. NEW – Help has been enhanced for the Windows XP Home Edition. Help now features the ability to search across multiple information sources such as your computer manufacturer's home page, Microsoft Knowledge Base, etc. In addition, you can now print a chapter from the online documentation. Windows XP Home Edition has also integrated the concept of "Favorites" into the Help subsystem, so you can easily find important passages.
