THIS ITEM IS USED DAILY FOR ALL INCOMING MAIL AND AT THE FRONT DESK FOR EVERY PERSON WHO ENTERS THE OFFICE TO MARK THE VISIT IN THEIR FILE. THIS ITEM GETS A WORK OUT AND IS VERY DURABLE.
NEVER HAVE TO WAIT FOR THE INK TO DRY, FILES CAN BE IMMEDIATELY PROCESSED, SO IT DOESNT SLOW US DOWN. SIMPLE ONE STEP OPERATION, NO SEPARATE INK PAD NEEDED TO PRE INK PRIOR TO USE. MESS-FREE APPLICATION AND STORAGE. EASY TO CHANGE THE DATE WITHOUT INK MESS!
WE INITIALLY THOUGHT THE PRICE SEEMED A LITTLE HIGH, JUST WATCH THE AVAILABLE YEARS ON THE STAMP WHEN YOU MAKE THE PURCHASE.

I have the "old date stamp" that is about to be obsolete at the end of 2007, so I need to buy another one for the next 6 years.

The only thing is that I only used 5 of the possible 6 years on the stamp, and the other 6 "stamp options" (AM, PM, REC'D, PAID, etc) were never used even one time.

I can't imagine that my use of this date stamp is that different than most users. In my opinion, Staples should offer this stamp, and have another model that has only the years (room for 12 years instead of 6)

Comments about marking products Offistamp Self-Inking Date Stamp:

Used this stamp during tax season (busy time) everyday many times a day. Never worked well. Did not show entire date. Had to ink almost everyday. Was messy when you added ink, did not last long because you had to stamp excess ink off. Everyone that used this complained everytime they used it. What a bad product.

            • Q:

Am I correct that you cannot actually SEE what date you are setting your stamper on?? The date you are setting is apparently up underneath the ink pad, and it is by trial and error that you get it set to the date you want? Some answers to other customer questions are incorrect--this does NOT come with instructions and it does NOT come ready to use. You have to install the ink. After you figure out how to get it out of the little plastic holder it came in! No wonder it was such a good deal. GRRR.

              • A:

I can understand your frustration and cannot explain why there would be no instructions with this product to install the ink cartridges or to set the date. According to a similar product question that is answered on the website, to set the date you would depress the top and this brings the stamping row into view. then adjust the wheels for the correct date. There were numerous questions regarding the lack of instructions for this product, mostly regarding installing the ink pads, but please keep in mind, Staples has an extremely lenient "no-time limit" return policy for office supplies. Their return policy for office supplies is as follows:
                "Office Supplies
No matter when you made your purchase, you can return office supplies to us for a full refund, including Staples® brand office products."

              Hi,

I was just wondering, what is the capacity of this stamp? How many times it can be used to stamp documents?
              500? 700? ...?

              Thanks.

The product is a 6 year stamp and a consumer is able to purchase more ink if it runs out.

              • A:

Set the date by depressing the top. This rotates the stamping row into view, do a practice stamp to see how this rotation works. Use the small toothy edged wheels to set the month, day and year to the date you wish to stamp. Everyday change the day, month and maybe year to keep the desired date.

                A:

The ink pad is visible from the side of the stamp - you can see the edges (about 1/4" by 1.25") Press in on one side of the rectangle until it pops loose. Then press the stamp down just a little against a desk to relieve the pressure from the ink pad. The pad should slide out freely at that point.
