Used to have a different cable lock that required a key. Wound up becoming too much of a hassle to constantly keep track of the key. Now with this Targus lock, I only need to remember a 4 digit code. Setting the code was quick and simple. The length of the lock was also a nice feature. No more having to place my laptop in odd corners of the table just to make sure I could wrap the lock to something stable.

            I got a used HP Compaq nc4400 laptop. The security cable end was a bit hard to insert, but it went in with a snap. Then I could not get it out. So I am leaving it attached for now.

                  I have a HP laptop Compaq NC4400. The cable was a bit hard to get in the hole. Then in it went with a snap. But I can't get it out. I do know the code - the button depresses but the moving end parts will not come out.

                      Don't waste your time or money on this product. I bought this lock for travel. The prongs broke off inside my laptop on the first use, rendering the lock useless and my computer unprotected.
