Works fine. Plug and play installation in Win 7. Didn't use the CD it came with. The windows drivers worked right out of the box. However, I did go and update the driver version to the latest manually by visiting the website URL specified in the packaging.

The Targus UBS BT - DO NOT BUY IT!

This product did not install properly - the software HUNG UP every time I tried to install it. Then, when using the control panel software removal tools, I could not delete it becuse the installation was incomplete. In its incomplete mode it could not retain the information on it services settings on reboot. When trying to reinstall the program it would stop, indicating that it could not proceed because a previous installation was in progress. Truly a catch twentytwo - you can't delete it and can't reinstall it for same reason "the previous installation is incomplete. After observing the install files in Task Manager Processes I was able to figure out which files to delete (always dangerous). This allowed the program to go into an undocumented mode where it started to delete the previous installation before it restarted the install process. I was able to stop the re-install process after it deleted the previously installed files, and then use the control panel's uninstall tool to delete this hellish software. Nowhere in the documentation is a mention of an uninstall method. I am taking this product back to store to get my money back. Too bad I won't be able to get my time back - that I wasted on this poorly design software.I replaced this unit with one that was 9$ vs the [$] Targus unit (both units had the small form factor). The 9$ unit worked with the native XP BT drivers and does everything that the Targus unit claims at less than half the price(and far less installation and uninstallation time).Finally - DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIMME OR MONEY ON THIS PRODUCT.

I PURCHASED A SMALL LIGHTED BLUE TOOTH KEYBOARD
IT WAS NOT EXPLAINED THAT I HAD TO HAVE BLOOTH
ON MY PC WHEN I BOUGHT IT.I CALLED THE MANUFACTURER AND STAPLES BUT NO ONE SEAMED TO BE ABLE TO HELP ME. I FINALLY DID SOME RESEARCH AND WENT TO A LOCAL STAPLES. IT WAS MORE EXPENSIVE THAN WHAT I SAW ONLINE BUT IT WORKED PERFECTLY.

I am so glad that Bill, the Sales Associate, recommended it! All I did was explain my personal challenging technology situation, and he immediately left and returned with the Targus USB Bluetooth Adapter by Targus! I was so impressed that I even bought a Targus Bag to carry my laptop, mobile compact printer, and accessories! To think that I only went to buy a compact printer! I am so glad I took his recommendation because now where I go, my personalized technology goes too! Talk about technological advances! Lol I was just there last week checking their Touch Ultrabooks!

unable to use after other USB went down. support team couldn't get it working with wireless printer as before so it's just frustrating as to how I can get it to operate my wireless printer without buying more tech things!

  This is not compatible with the PS3 because it installs motion in the joy drivers which will not detect the adapter. Logitech makes an adapter specifically made for the PS3.

  This device will NOT work with you Sony receiver as you wish because the receiver will not be able to configure the adapter. The configuration process requires a computer operating system.

  The distance at which two Bluetooth devices can be connected depends on environmental conditions (type of walls etc) but a generally accepted range is 10 meters (33 feet) to 20 meters (66 feet).

  This type of Bluetooth connectors are USB based.
  1. If your laptop has disabled bluetooth softwarely, it means that Built in Bluetooth is disabled. (Maybe drivers are removed from your laptop or etc.) You can use this device in this case.
  
  2. If your laptop has hardware-disabled bluetooth, that means USB-based bluetoothes will still work properly.
  
  This item needs its own software to install. It wont work without it.
