I love this pen. I use both the blue and black everyday all day long. The value cannot be beat. I would love additional colors; particularly red and green. As with any fountain pen, you can't write firmly or it will bleed through the paper.

This unique blend of fountain pen and ball point pen has a nice feel to it and doesn't smear or run. Its shortfalls are that it stops writing if the cap is off even for a short period of time and you have to adjust the cap when you are writing because the tip has a fountain pen shape and only works well at one angle. The clip on the cap is uncomfortable on your hand unless you turn it to the right spot. This is somewhat inconvenient. Maybe if the cap only fit on the back of the pen in one position, this problem would go away.

    I used these disposable fountain pens for years; loved the way that they felt as well as the way they wrote. My favorite color was pink, which I used on everything. Made my documents distinctive.

    Now, with just blue and black as options, it isn't quite as much fun. But the feel of the pen is still there. Quite smooth and fluid. And this instrument doesn't leak, as did my fountain pens of years ago.

    I don't like that they are not environmentally focused, but sometimes we all have to make compromises.

        I am a long time fountain pen user with over ten fountain pens. I like the Varsity for its convenience and the fact that it has a nice purple ink that I find useful for comments and revisions. I don't mind if I loose the pen: the cost is so low, as compared with my Mount Blanc which I do not take out of my home. A very useful utilitarian pen.

        I love this pen. I use it all the time although I would prefer a finer tip. I use the purple pen which I found elsewhere and will buy the black one here,but would love a red and green one as well. People always comment when they see me use it because they believe it is an old fashioned fountain pen. It actually feels like one.

            I have been using these pens for years. They are wonderful to write with. People always comment on how cool these pens are. I offer to let my students use my cool pen when they do a good job on their writing. I wish they didn't dry out when the pen is left uncapped. Other than that, I love these pens. Susan
