I was ready to give up on my PC, it always had problems connecting to the internet. This new router is so fast and the signal strength is so stong, My PC works like its brand new. Also we have a three story house and this router reaches every part of it.

Purchased one for my own office to help decide whether this model would be a good option for customer networks. The wireless functions of the router are good, but without Ethernet status lights which are found on most routers and switches, there is no way to know if Ethernet connections are working properly and at the ideal speed. For a multi-room office or retail store, the lack of Ethernet status lights is a problem.

Poor Data Throughput

Comments about NETGEAR AC1750 Dual Band WiFi Gigabit Router R6300:

This router was easy to set up. It replaced a wireless N Netgear router. But from the start its output on the N band was awful. My kids stated their phones got signal on the 2nd floor but data throughput was terrible. I tried resets of all kinds but could not get this router to put data out. I recently put up a wireless IP outdoor camera and it was so slow that I barely got it to rotate. I did a download test from "SpeedTest.Net" and it gave me 1.12 mps download. I ended up removing this router and replacing it with an Asus ru66 which is strong and fast. Its throughput was 93 MPS on a laptop 2 rooms away. Sorry netgear not close on this one

Good with a few glitches

Comments about NETGEAR AC1750 Dual Band WiFi Gigabit Router R6300:

I bought this for a two station home network with a shared printer. Works fine, was happy that I could actually network a home printer with stations that weren't designed for networking. The networked printer worked initially with both stations, but now only finds one of the stations, even after re-setting. I've got a second "ghost printer" now, with a copy of the original printer showing in my devices file as a separate printer. I'm sure there is probably more that I can do to investigate and fix this issue, but just don't have the time and am doing a work-around. Has potential, but needs attention. Also, doesn't have that little light which shows which stations are connected, which is a little weird....

Better Choices

Comments about NETGEAR AC1750 Dual Band WiFi Gigabit Router R6300:

Tried this router after having connection problems with netgear wdr4300. Many hours spent trying to configure it to no avail so tried the R6100 which worked well except the wired Ethernet ports are only 100mb/s. The staples specification displayed is incorrect. The USB port worked well with a printer attached and the connection was reliable. The R6100 is a decent router if you don't need high performance to wired server or an ISP. Much more stable than the Netgear R6300 (connections issues plus printer connection was unreliable) and the R6250 ( Was better than the 6300 but no indicator light when the printer was plugged in but seamed to work but still connections issues) which I also tried. Spend a lot of time trying to configure both of those as well. Netgear really needs to get their act together and get the bugs out of their firmware and hardware. I was going to go back and get another R6100 and live with the 100mb ports but instead I purchased a RT-AC68R which blows all the above out of the water. I have at least 10 devices attached including cable modem, PC's, PS3, Xbox, tablets, phones, TV's, printers and hard drives all using one of the following 802.11G, 802.11N and 802.11AC, hard wired and USB. If you're not this intense get the 6100 if you are get the RT-AC68R

R6300 Router

By oso

Comments about NETGEAR AC1750 Dual Band WiFi Gigabit Router R6300:

This Router is solid. Strong Signal. In use for several months and no problems with Link or Power.
However, I have a 30Mbp down and 3Mbp up ISP connection but only get 117KBs up on a FTP upload off network. In my home network, I have a Win 8, Win 7 and an iMAC; all with N wireless cards and they all have consistent speeds of 5.3MBs to 6.1MBs.
With this Router claiming 450Mbps I would expect much faster speeds.
Even with a wired connection this Router only gets about 10-15 Mbps.
All my equipment is in the same 15x15 room.
Signal strength is consistent throughout my 2300sf home and extends to patio and end of driveway.
All in all, this is a solid Router but don't expect the advertised speeds.
Drop 1 star for speed issue, other than that it is a great Router.
