Use these quick tips from Scotch® to make sure your business gifts are packed and shipped perfectly and arrive safely. | Business Hub | Staples.com®

Pack it properly

Brought to you by 3M™

Make sure your gifts arrive intact and unharmed by following these tips:

  • Cardboard shipping cartons or boxes can be used to mail contents up to 10 pounds.
  • Select a box that is strong enough to protect the contents. They are available in a variety of sizes. If shipping breakables, remember to allow space for cushioning material.
  • Remember to wrap delicate items with a cushioning material like bubble roll and fill spaces in a box with shredded or crumpled newspaper or plain air-popped popcorn. Cushion all sides of the box and place gifts so that they do not touch the box or each other. Pack snugly to avoid shifting.
  • Stuff fragile hollow items, such as wine glasses, with packing material to avoid breakage due to shock from dropped or roughly handled boxes. For framed photographs, take the glass out of the frame and wrap it separately.
  • Remove batteries and seal them in a plastic bag to contain potential leakage. Cushion them well and ship them alongside the item they power.
  • Include a label with destination and return addresses inside the box, just in case the external label is lost or damaged.
