Unlike other envelope openers, the cutting mechanism slits only one side of the envelope, keeping mail contents intact and eliminating messy paper scraps. The FD 452 accommodates various envelope sizes, from #10 to flats, without pre-sorting. A support arm handles large envelopes, and a push arm ensures constant pressure for quick and accurate feeding. The opened mail neatly stacks in the catch tray, while the LCD counter facilitates easy tracking.
